Allez! Greytown’s favourite little French themed event is back!
Saturday 1 March is the LAST day of our summer wine bar season before we head off to pick the grapes and make more wine, so what better way to say goodbye for a little while than a day of French ‘joie de vivre’ celebrating the classic gin and champagne French 75 cocktail!
Invented in the bars of Paris during WW1, this Champagne cocktail was named after the French 75mm artillery field gun - because both gun and cocktail were known to knock you flat!
New Zealand only has a tiny handful of in-house Méthode Traditionnelle (fizz) producers, and we are one of them… so what better cocktail for this little urban winery to make! Even better, we make our French 75s pink, using none other than our special Rosé Méthode Traditionnelle bubbly – a delicious combination!
This is your call to cancel all boring plans for March 1 and instead come to Alexia for a special afternoon filled with ‘joie de vivre’!
The French flags will be flying, the berets will be positioned at the jauntiest angle possible and the croque monsieurs and petit fours will be ‘magnifique’! Are we excited? Oui!
Alexia will be donating $5 from each French 75 sold towards fundraising efforts for the Greytown Festival of Christmas.
Essential details: No bookings required just turn up. Dogs ok. GF? Yes. This is a rain or shine event so don’t miss out!
