Frocks on Shocks 2025 is going to be outta sight!

Be hip! Celebrate International Womens MTB Day, 60’s style!

Frocks on Shocks 2025 is a groovy cross country relay event just for chicks (over the age of 10) to celebrate International Women’s MTB Day on 3 May (the first Saturday each May).

Riders will complete as many laps of a non-technical loop trail (15-30 mins) as they can in three hours. Suitable for competent beginners and above (Grade 2 trails).

Categories: Loner (Single rider), Deuce (Pairs), Fab Four (or three) (teams of 4 or 3 riders), Ma & Kiddo (Mother-Daughter pairs).
If you want to ride in a pair/team but don’t have anyone to ride with, please contact us at dirtdivas@mmbc.co.nz and we’ll try to help.

No e-bikes please for safety reasons.

Dress in your 60s threads AND bring along some grub to share (we’ll provide the bananas).

The scene: This year we’re headed to the new Foxton MTB Trails at Target Reserve! State Highway 1, Foxton. Headed towards Foxton, keep your eyes peeled once you get to the golf course. Turn right at the entrance with the Foxton MTB Trails sign.

The race will begin promptly at 12pm so get there in time to put on those costumes and tart yourself up! Mandatory briefing at 11.45am. There are spot prizes, category prizes and prizes for best costume. Ditch the tutu and find some tie-dye! We're going 60s.

Cost: $20 per person – except for Ma and Kiddo teams who are $15 per person.
