Free guided tours, suitable for all ages and mobility levels, through one of New Zealand's finest buildings. Government House has category-one heritage status and is the home of the Governor-General of New Zealand. The house was built in 1910 and extensively refurbished in 2008.
It has a large collection of New Zealand art and taonga.
Tours start in the Visitor Centre, and then explore the house and (weather and mobility permitting) the grounds. We have on-site parking.

School group and community group tours are available by contacting the Visitor Centre directly: bookings@govthouse.govt.nz.
Registration details may be checked by NZ Police. Adults require a photo ID for entry. Check your spam/junk folder if your booking confirmation doesn't arrive.
