Join us for songs from the baroque era themed around the sweet torment of love - expressed via the delicacy of the baroque guitar with a single voice.
The concert includes songs such as "Amarilli, mia bella" by Caccini, Gluck, Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Frescobaldi and Handel. Koha.
Helene has always enjoyed singing and playing the piano. When she lived in London she trained at Morley College’s Opera School, and since moving to Wellington in 2018 she has sung with the Wellington and New Zealand Opera choruses, Cathedral of St Paul choir, Tudor Consort, and The Queen’s Closet, where she and Peter first performed together. Otherwise she enjoys swimming in Oriental Bay with the Washing Machine group of ocean swimmers.
Peter began his music making on the guitar, however, this had a 45 year hiatus in order to accommodate a distinguished career as a symphonic trombonist. He has performed on the baroque guitar with The Queen's Closet, The Tudor Consort and recently with Festival Opera, Napier in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. Peter continues to perform on the trombone with Orchestra Wellington.
