Explore this substantial property in the heart of Newmarket, built in 1862 by Alfred Buckland, and learn more about this enterprising businessman and his family. Explore the new art trail and get a fascinating insight into the Tāmaki Makaurau landscapes depicted in the paintings on display.

While you are here, have a game of croquet on the lawn, and try some homemade fry-bread, made in our historic kitchen!

Also, take the opportunity to visit one of the other three properties in Tāmaki Makaurau managed by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga. Learn more about the history of these unique places built in the 1860s, and the families who lived in them. Alberton in Mt. Albert, and Ewelme Cottage in Parnell will be open for the day, and free to visit.
