Kapiti Coast Natural Dye & Shibori Workshop Yukihito Kanai

Japanese contemporary textile dyer Yukihito Kanai is coming to Kapiti Coast from Amami Oshima. As a second generation dye artisan he will share shibori dyeing processes with natural plants in a cultural exchange.

Meet Yukihito and learn about sustainable uses of natural dyes. Each participant will have a furoshiki or cotton wrap to experience the processes of resist shibori dyeing to create a unique piece at nature's door step.
