The Carlton Gallery is happy to present the exhibition of out next artist: Karen O'Neill (Kazz).
Karen O’Neill is a passionate New Zealand artist with a lifelong connection to the creative world. Karen studied at the Technical Institute of Fine Arts in Hamilton and has since developed a distinctive style that blends mixed media with a strong focus on landscapes and seascapes, drawing deep inspiration from the unique fauna and flora of Aotearoa.
Working primarily with acrylic and, more recently, oil, Karen also incorporates foil, fabric paint, metallics, and resin into her work, creating striking texture, depth, and visual interest. Her artistic process is intuitive and imaginative—each piece evolves organically as her brush tells a story. Her work explores light, perspective, and values, aiming to craft something unique and captivating for every viewer.
Karen has exhibited widely across the Western Bay of Plenty and Mt Maunganui, and has sold commissioned works both in New Zealand and Australia. Karen’s work has also received national recognition—she was awarded a Certificate of Merit at the Molly Morpeth Award.
