Wellington City Council is supporting Local Food Week in partnership with Seeds to Feeds. This is an annual showcase of food producers, spaces and initiatives that bring vitality to the city’s local food scene.

Seeds to Feeds specialise in building and strengthening local food communities in our neighbourhoods. Through kai, they nurture opportunities to meet interested others, share knowledge, skills and stories, and make warm connections. Check out what’s on offer – there’s something to whet everyone’s appetite.

Wrapping up Local Food Week 2025 is a community-based feast! Using locally grown and foraged ingredients, bring friends or the whānau to the Haewai Harvest dinner and discover the delicious fruits (and vegetables, pun intended) of the South Coast.

Haewai Harvest Dinner
Āhea | When: 5.30pm, Saturday 8 March
Ki hea | Where: Haewai Houghton Valley Community Hall, Houghton Bay | View on Google Maps
Te utu | Cost: Bookings are koha based – $20 for an adult and $10 for a child are recommended
Join our friendly local food celebration in the Haewai Houghton Valley Community Hall. The meal will include locally grown and foraged ingredients, as well as some from not far away. We have a delicious vegetarian menu with plant-based and gluten-free options, created by Leone and the Seeds-to-Feeds helpers, including foraged salad, homemade bread, preserves, dips; roast tomato tarts and green vegetable and pesto pasta; fruit and vegetable-based cakes and desserts; and drinks from the wild South Coast.

We can’t wait to share beautiful kai from our ngāhere and local mārakai with you! Book online (see link above) to secure your place and give us a good idea of numbers.
