Step into the rare air of mandolin mastery with Nate Torvik, one of New Zealand’s most quietly brilliant multi-instrumentalists.
Nate doesn’t just play the mandolin—he commands it, wielding one of the only two prized Gibson F5s in the country.
This two-hour workshop is your chance to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with a true maestro. Whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned picker, Nate will help develop your skill whatever your level. His approach is intuitive, flexible, and energising. He’ll share everything from cerebral theory insights and practical techniques to hot licks, jam grooves, and even the occasional musical mind-bender.
Expect:
Chord inversions (yes, he writes them for fun)
Finger-blistering lead tricks
Tailored tips based on your experience level
Easygoing jam time and spontaneous learning moments.
Known for his work across numerous lineups and styles, Nate brings a rare mix of technical firepower, theoretical depth, and playful warmth.
This isn’t a lecture—it’s a launchpad.
“He’s pretty damn good at making sure everyone walks away with something valuable. It’s not just a workshop—it’s a musical awakening.”
Seats are limited to 10 —reserve yours now and don’t miss this unique chance to learn from one of the country’s most respected string whisperers.
