Rock The Vote NZ present Martin Doutré on “The Ancient History of New Zealand”

In the small rural district of Poukawa, Hawkes Bay, during the 1950s through to the early 1980s a large archaeological excavation was conducted and backed by New Zealand’s leading scientists and institutions. The remarkable findings from this site were published in national newspapers and created a real excitement across NZ.

Many thousands of cooked, broken and human marked or sawn Moa bones were found under the ash layering, one of which was verified by Wellington’s DSIR Radiocarbon Dating Lab and soil layering experts to have been there for over 7,000 years.

Due to the huge significance of the findings, which were counterproductive to political agendas, the accrued evidence was censored and ultimately withheld from the New Zealand public and the worldwide research community.

Martin says “There is evidence all over New Zealand of an ancient megalithic culture who occupied this land for thousands of years before the recent arrival of the Polynesian-Melanesian Maori, around 1300 AD. The oldest carbon-dating figure we have for a place called Oturehua (South Island) shows human activity there almost 10,000 years ago.”

Martin Doutré was born in Altadena, California, USA, in December 1946, but was raised and had his formative education in New Zealand. He has lived "back and forth" between the US, Continental Europe and New Zealand, and has been educated in each region.

Martin first became interested in archaeo-astronomy in the 1970s and, by applying exacting surveying and measurement techniques, has made a close study of mysterious, New Zealand, pre-Polynesian structures. He is the author of the books “Ancient Celtic New Zealand” and “The Littlewood Treaty: The True English Text”.
