The Nicholas Baucke-Maunsell Quintet is thrilled to be performing at the WJC!

Led by saxophonist Nicholas Baucke-Maunsell, the group features Henry Sherris on trumpet —
reuniting after a five-year break during which Henry honed his craft in New York. The two first
played together as teenagers in the Young Musicians Program under the mentorship of the
legendary Rodger Fox, and now return to the stage for this special performance.

Joining them are Callum Allardice on guitar, Seth Boy on bass, and Abe Baillie on drums — an
exceptional rhythm section known for their deep musical connection and expressive interplay.

The quintet will perform a dynamic mix of original jazz compositions. Each piece reflects
moments from Nicholas’s recent journey — from touring internationally with the Rodger Fox Big
Band to day-to-day insights gained through his work as a teacher. The set will also feature
compositions by Henry, offering reflections on his time living and studying in New York.

This concert marks a meaningful farewell before Nicholas heads to Amsterdam to begin the
next chapter of his musical journey. Don’t miss the chance to experience this heartfelt
performance live.
