Be transported to other worlds with music from Zest String Quartet! Teleport yourself to Level 2 of the Central Library and listen in wonder as music from 2001 Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter floats into your hyperspace. Packed with string quartet music rearranged, reimagined, and rediscovered, this short concert hour is sure to delight.
While you are there don’t forget to visit the “Other Worlds” exhibition which traverses the science fiction universe, celebrating the imaginative power of notable works from the nineteenth century and beyond. This exhibition runs from 19 February - 2 August 2025, at Central City Library | Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero.
About the performers:
Founded in 2016 by violinist Amber Read, Zest String Quartet aims to curate unforgettable live music experiences. The group hails from all over Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and has performed in venues such as Auckland Museum, Auckland Art Gallery, SkyCity Events Centre and Shed10.
