Join us to celebrate and experience the newly completed bike route between Shorland Park in Island Bay right through to Waitangi Park in the city.

If a nature-based commute is more your style, join Jonathan Kennett to explore the off-road routes that join into the on-road network to bring the wild to your ride.

Whether you want to explore the new bike connections or simply celebrate the completed route, Park2Park is a great opportunity to give the new separated bike lanes a go in a friendly, supportive environment.

Find out more about whats on offer at wcc.govt.nz/park2park.

The ride will start from the corner of Waitangi Park and finish in Shorland Park in Island Bay.

Please allow 2 hours for the ride. Arrive 30 minutes early if you are renting a bike from Switched on Bikes.

These rides are suitable for people who:
- Can ride grade 2 commuter mountain bike trail or gravel path, have a moderate level of fitness bike but aren't yet travelling by bike in the city; and
- Those who want to learn about the nature-based commuter trails and how they link up to the wider bike network.

Open to riders aged 18+ (or 13+ if accompanied by an adult).

A bike with a minimum tyre width of 40mm is strongly recommended to participate in this ride, you will not be able to ride the trails on skinny road tyres. Thanks to Switched on Bikes and Wellington City Council, you can rent a suitable bike for just $10 if you don't have access to one.

Please book that separately here:

You can either leave the bike with us after the tour and make your own way home. If you're feeling extra enthusiastic and want to extend your ride on Sunday, you're welcome to hold onto the bike and return it before 5pm to Switched on Bikes, or return it by 10am the following day at no extra charge. Hold onto it for all of Sunday for only $45!
