Molewood Orchard in Greytown will be opening its gates to the public on weekends for Pick Your Own apples and pears this harvest season.
Long-time Greytown residents Juliet and Ed Cooke returned to operating the Mole Street orchard in 2022, together with son Wendell. Daughter Merran is responsible for marketing and social media, and son Grayson takes care of the website and visual design. The orchard is now run as an independent family business, with the whole family pitching in to support the 2025 harvest season.
The Cooke family is looking forward to welcoming the public to the orchard for the third year running, introducing a new generation to the delight of picking fresh, sun-warmed apples off the tree. If the idea of spending an hour or two wandering down rows of trees laden with fresh, delicious apples appeals, we have got your weekend plans covered!
The orchard is only a short walk or bike ride from Main Street, and parking is now available in the orchard grounds. Please bring a bucket, basket or bag for the fruit. You’re welcome to bring a picnic lunch as well to enjoy in the orchard's beautiful picnic area, Molewood Meadows. Sunscreen, sturdy footwear and a hat are a good idea too!
Entry to the orchard is free! Prices per kg will be updated on our Facebook page and website.
