In February and March, the world-renowned American singer-songwriter Simon Joyner is heading to New Zealand for a series of intimate shows. In Wellington he will be performing alongside New Zealand underground icon Peter Jefferies.

Joyner, who has released albums on independent labels since the early 90’s is widely regarded as one of the great songwriters of our generation. Gillian Welch calls him her favourite poet and Kevin Morby and Conor Oberst both claim him as a major influence. Despite being a songwriter’s songwriter, Joyner has flown mostly under the radar for 30 years, an underground artist who tours infrequently but has over 50 releases to his name, including 19 albums. He’s here in New Zealand, playing a handful of shows in support of the release of his newest album, Coyote Butterfly.
