Brought to you by Slow Woven Textile Studio and Creative Communities New Zealand, Slow Woven is an exhibition of contemporary textiles by Manawatū weaver and fibre artist Natasha Christensen.
Passionate about the environment and sustainability Natasha weaves with only natural fibres and hand-dyes yarn in colours inspired by the beautiful native plant life of Aotearoa, New Zealand. She weaves on a large Kauri floor loom which was hand-crafted in 1977 by famed Marton loom maker, the late Bruce Nitschke.
Slow Woven celebrates the slow nature of weaving, the patience and mindfulness required, and the true beauty of a unique hand-crafted textile.
Meet the Artist: Natasha will be onsite 10am - 3pm on Sundays throughout the exhibition to meet you, talk about her work and give demonstrations.
