Te Pae Kōkako – The Aotearoa New Zealand Opera Studio (TANZOS) performs for Wellington audiences for the first time this November with Una Serenata Italiana – an intimate evening of Italian opera favourites at the Public Trust Hall.
Directed by Elaine Kidd (Head of the Jette Parker Artists Programme, The Royal Opera House Covent Garden) and accompanied by Caroline Dowdle (Head of Opera, Atelier Lyric Verbier Festival; repertoire coach with the Jette Parker Programme and the Royal College of Music), the concert celebrates the beauty of Italian opera and the new generation of New Zealand opera artists defining the country’s vocal landscape.
Presented in association with Ambasciata d’Italia Wellington, this special performance continues the vision of Dame Malvina Major, whose support for artist development through TANZOS helps nurture Aotearoa’s rising operatic talent.
Featuring Sarah Mileham, Niamh Bentley, Jasmine Jessen, Katherine Winitana, Ridge Ponini, Faamanu Fonoti-Fuimaono, Tomairangi Henare and Samuel McKeever.
