WELLINGTON's premier event venue Whisky and Wood is hosting its popular open mic event: Wellington Calling and we're looking for diverse acts to contribute and a supportive audience to attend!

Our events attract some of Wellington's best talent and this is a great way to see up and coming talent.

The open mic event takes place Sunday March 30 at 7:30 PM.

Located in the heart of the city at 60 Cambridge terrace, Whisky and Wood exudes industrial elegance with New-York loft vibes featuring washed-brick walls, soaring high ceilings, skylights and a wooden bar area.

Each performer gets the chance to have a six- minute set with a microphone, guitar and keyboard provided.

This is an originals only event. We want to encourage new creative voices to be heard.

“We want to provide a positive and encouraging environment for established and fledgling acts to shine in. Its a pretty inspiring place to perform,” says host Steven Hood.

Each performer will need to sign up in person before 7pm and registrations of interest need to be emailed to openwandw@gmail.com before Nov 24.

The feature act for is Dead End Roads, who will be showcasing his dreamy vocals and well-constructed songs alongside some impressive guitar tones and chordal work.

Entry is with Koha.

Light food and drinks will be available to purchase.
