The first in the 2025 series of Tuesday Club talks, the Otago Settlers Association’s Tuesday Club welcomes Brian Miller, local author, photographer, and publisher, to speak about Dunedin’s early major exhibitions.

2025 marks the centenary of the New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition, one of Dunedin’s largest ever events, held at Logan Park. However, it was not the first major exhibition in the city. In this talk, Brian Miller will explain the origins of gold in the Otago Schist and how the gold led to Dunedin holding several massive exhibitions, attracting commerce and artists from across the globe and building a strong arts culture in Dunedin.

This event begins with refreshments and an opportunity to chat with Otago Settlers Association members.

10.15am, Tuesday 11 February
Toitū Auditorium
Gold coin donation for Otago Settlers Association members, $5 for non-member attendees
