Úna has taught formally and informally since her teens and achieved a first-class honours postgraduate degree in music education at the University of Limerick. She subsequently undertook specialised training in America, Canada, and Italy. Passionate about music education, she strives to make every class both highly effective and *fun*!
In Christchurch, she will host a workshop on Irish traditional songs. Students will …
- be exposed to the various strands of the Irish song tradition
- internalise the melodies of Irish songs with enjoyable, kinaesthetic learning methods
- be introduced to common forms and structures of Irish song
- internalise the phrasing of traditional singing
- start their journey with Irish traditional ornamentation
… leaving the workshop with a new song on their lips!

VENUE: The hall is situated up the long driveway, directly next to Domain Park, and there is plenty of well-lit off-street parking.
Doors open 1.45pm. Workshop starts at 2.00pm - online bookings will close 2 hours prior to the event start time. After this time only door sales will be available on the night and will be dependant on the number of seats available in line with the Hall capacity. LIMITED DOOR SALES AVAILABLE IF ONLINE SALES ARE NOT SOLD OUT.
