Wellington Lantern Festival 2025

Celebrate the Year of the Snake at the Wellington Lantern Festival!

Join us on Saturday, 22 February and Sunday, 23 February 2025 at the Botanic Gardens Sound Shell for a magical evening under the stars. We’re welcoming the Year of the Snake with an exciting celebration of culture, community, and creativity.

Live Performances will include:

• Spectacular Dragon Dancing
• Traditional Chinese Singing & Dancing
• Serene Tai Chi demonstrations
• And much much more!

Food & Cultural Stalls will be set up in the gardens and also across the road at the Anglican Chinese Mission Church – come hungry and ready to explore!

Lantern Making: Bring the whole family to create your own beautiful lanterns! Children can join in the fun and bring home a piece of the festival magic.
