The Toi sisters are six impressively skilled wāhine who graduated with their art degrees from Toimarangi in 2023. Toimairangi is a School of Māori Visual Art based in Heretaunga, Hawkes Bay - offering a Level 4 Certificate and a 3-year Degree (Maunga Kura Toi).
This sisters' exhibition, 'WHANAUNGATANGA' (relationship, kinship, sense of family connection) is their first collaboration since graduating. The Toi sisters featured are Arlita Hape, Wendy lee McKee, Nephi Tupaea, Annette Harris, and Jennifer Dickerson.
Our beautiful Hastings Community Arts Centre is absolutely alight with many works from each of these incredible artists - come and see for yourself! You'll have plenty of opportunities to visit with some of the sisters, who will be in attendance the whole time - even on Good Friday, Easter Monday, and ANZAC Day.
