Eduardo Sanchez Ojeda | Shadow Play: Paper Embossing

Sunday, 4 May 2025 | 9:30am – 12:00pm | $90
Sunday, 4 May 2025 | 1:00pm – 4:00pm | $90

Experience the delicate interplay of light and shadow in the art of paper embossing. Guided by experienced artist Eduardo Sanchez Ojeda, you will learn two distinct techniques for creating intricate shapes and lines.

This workshop will cover two techniques for creating an impression. The first is to build up layers on the surface of the plate and the second is to cut into the plate. You'll gain hands-on experience in preparing the plate, paper, and press to achieve the best results, all without the use of ink. The focus is on developing textures and exploring the dynamic relationship between positive and negative space.

At the end of the workshop you’ll have two A4 sized prints on beautiful Shiramine Select paper from the Awagami Paper Factory in Japan.

Ideal for artists of all levels, this session provides a comprehensive introduction to the visual language of embossing, with an emphasis on creating depth and subtle detail through careful manipulation of materials.

Don’t miss out – limited spaces available. Age: 16 +

What to bring:
• All materials will be provided.
