The annual World Press Photo Contest recognises the best photojournalism and documentary photography produced over the last year.
Visit the exhibition between 26 July and 24 August. You’ll see the 139 winning images in the 68th annual World Press Photo contest, plus a selection from the archives to mark the 70 Year anniversary of World Press Photo.
About the World Press Photo exhibition
Following the announcement of the World Press Photo contest winners in April, the winning photos then tour the world - going to over 40 countries. Showcasing stunning and sometime confronting images, the exhibition tells the stories of what has been happening across the globe in the last 12 months. Issues affecting everyday people such as health, war, and climate change are often highlighted.
The Rotary Club of Auckland has been bringing the exhibition to Auckland since 2010, with all profits from the event going to charity.
This year, one of the winners is a New Zealand based photographer, Tatsiana Chypsanava, with her powerful series called Te Urewera – The Living Ancestor of Tūhoe People. See her stunning photos and many more in our new space at 131 Queen Street.
