Wrights Hill Fortress - Waitangi Day Open Day

Family fun at the start of 2025. Visit the Wrights Hill Fortress in Karori for a look at the historic wartime coastal battery.

Self- guided tours take about one hour. See military displays, historic photos, and the giant engines that drove the 9.2 inch guns had they been in action. A DVD shows them firing.

Test your skills with blank firing under strict supervision. See radio equipment used in the 1940"s.

Refreshments on sale at a moderate price , and picnic spots outside.

Limited car parking areas.. try walking up the hill from the base.!
