Dylan Moran
Dylan Moran, the rambling, pessimistic, quintessentially Irish comedian, is now considered one of the greatest living stand-ups.
Best known for his work in BBC comedy Black Books, and cult classic films Shaun of the Dead and Run Fatboy Run, he first appeared on television in the BBC sitcom How Do You Want Me in 1998. This was followed the next year by a small part in Notting Hill. His live comedy career, however, began in 1992 in Dublin, and has featured performances at the Edinburgh Festival, Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. This career has seen the release of three live DVDs, “Monster” (2004), “Like, Totally” (2006) and What It Is (2009). A further tour, “Yeah, Yeah” took place in 2011, and includes performances in New Zealand.
Moran has won two BAFTA TV Awards for Best Situation Comedy, both for Black Books. He also won the Edinburgh Festival’s “So You Think You’re Funny” Award in 1993, and the Perrier Award in 1996, and, in 2007, French newspaper Le Monde named him the “greatest comedian, living or dead.”
Known for his sarcastic delivery and biting wit, his shows have become famous around the world for their quality.
