Bon Jovi blasts back

Saturday 10 November 2007

We've all done it - played the air guitar - while singing along to our favourite rock band and waiting for them to come to town.

Well Bon Jovi are going to make a lot of people happy when they rock into Christchurch in January for their first ever gig in New Zealand.

They seem to have been around forever with hits like "Livin' on a Prayer", "Wanted Dead or Alive" and of course, big hair favourite "You Give Love a Bad Name".

Believe it or not Bon Jovi have never brought their brand of American rock this far south before.

And it was only when he was asked on American Idol, that Jon Bon Jovi announced their Lost Highway Tour - after ten gigs in New Jersey, the band revealed they'd be heading out of the USA to see the rest of the world, taking in Canada and Japan, with other legs in Europe, Australia and America expected to follow.

It's more than likely that when the tour bus rocks on into Christchurch's AMI Stadium , you'll hear all the bands classic hits such as "Livin' on a Prayer", "Bad Medicine", "Wanted Dead or Alive", "Blaze of Glory", "Its My Life", "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Bed of Roses", "Have a Nice Day" and others including a sprinkling of songs from their just released "Lost Highway".

So start stone washing your jeans, growing your hair long and practise long and hard on your air guitar as the boys are coming to town.....

Which songs do you hope they'll play? Which is the best ever air guitar song from their catalogue? And which hair do you prefer on Jon Bon Jovi - short actor look or shaggy haired rocker?
