As we at Eventfinder keep telling you, summer is well and truly here!

And with the return of the long summer days and warm summer nights filled with brews and BBQ's, there are plenty of parties to attend.

But to get to all of them will cost you a small fortune - so you can be grateful that our generous friends over in the Coromandel are giving you the chance to attend the Pohutakawa Party set on the water's edge of Tairua on 8 December - FOR FREE!

The Coromandel is the perfect setting for a party - what with the truly gorgeous coastline and beaches.

We're giving you the chance to sample its delights and kick off the summer in style. This is the destination to head to and indulge in some fine wine, good food and great Kiwi music at the Pohutukawa Festival.

The highlight event “Tairua Pohutukawa Party” is being held on Saturday 8 December at Tairua School. It's sure to be the crowning piece of the festival featuring Rhombus, finalist for best Aotearoa roots album at this year’s New Zealand Music Awards. Rhombus are looking forward to bringing their unique sound for the first time to the Pohutukawa Festival and will be playing a selection of past favourites and new tracks from their forthcoming album, due for release in NZ 2008.

Joining Rhombus are The Aviators; an eight-piece funk band from Wellington, Tangent; a musical melting pot Tangent’s music defies categorisation, hence the name – they are always off on one! But one thing is for sure, they play cool music you can dance to. Nine Signals kick off the day at 11am, and Regan Perry a roots musician best known as lead guitarist for Cornerstone Roots will finish off the day.

To win a double pass, just leave us a note in the comments section of the event page telling us why the Coromandel is so great, and make sure all your details are up to date as the closing date for this is the 5th so we can get the tickets out to you ASAP! Good luck!
