THE EDGE is presenting Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, featuring an international cast including Ethan Hawke, Rebecca Hall, Simon Russell Beale, Josh Hamilton, and Sinead Cusack. This production is part of The Bridge Project, a New York and London based theatrical collaboration that will also include performances of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale in April. The ensemble will perform in only six locations in the world, so the inclusion of Auckland makes this a very special event.
The Cherry Orchard is a story of a woman's return to her beloved home as the family estate and cherry orchard are about to be sold due to her family's inability to understand the impact of their extravagent lifestyle on the family's mounting debt. As the world changes around them, the family can't comprehend their responsibility.
We are pleased to have two double passes to the 5 April afternoon performance of The Cherry Orchard for a ticket competition. To be in to win, tell us what home means to you. Please put your ideas in the Comments section of the event page and we'll pick the winners to be off to the show.
