Luminate Festival Artist Lineup Announced

Luminate is an earth friendly festival of music, art, dance, creativity and sustainability.

We are very excited to announce the music line-up at Luminate, which is packed full of amazing international and New Zealand talent, creating a rich diversity of soundscapes from around the world.

Returning by popular demand is musician and producer Adham Shaikh (Canada), who brings a tremendous tapestry of world beats guaranteed to delight the dancefloor.

First ever show in New Zealand, Beats Antique (USA) merge world roots music, middle eastern melodies and vibrant european folk with deep sub bass, glitch and dubstep: a deeply innovative live fusion of cultures that is gaining them a huge fan base around the world.

Always a festival highlight, the talented musicians of Mamaku Project (NZ) bring an intoxicating blend of pacifica dub, electro-oriental-jazz and the quirkiness of balkan beats.

And for the lovers of roots vibrations, Hikoikoi (NZ) bring an infectious groove combining dub, reggae, jazz, funk and african dance rhythms with peaceful, conscious lyrics.

Representing cutting edge, contemporary dance genres, we’re amped to announce the world renowned producers Perfect Stranger (Iboga, Israel) and Khainz (Echoes Recs/CH), who each bring an individual and irresistibly groovy, tech-house/progressive flavour with epic production and sonic complexity; these two producers regularly headline at the major festivals overseas and you’ll soon see why.

We’re also honoured to announce psytrance legend Dick Trevor (Nano, TIP, Phantasm/UK) who regularly cranks up the energy on dancefloors all around the planet.

Carving out a unique sound between the breaks, trance and techno genres, Hedflux (Broken Robot, UK) crafts together a genre-bending fusion of deep driving bass grooves, rolling beats, twisted glitches and psychedelic sorcery.

Heyoka (Muti music/USA) has developed a massive IDM/dubstep fan base in the US and Canada with his unique and infectious sound that combines deep dubby basslines, hip hop and glitch with clever musicality and melody.

A special guest workshop facilitator and musician not to be missed is Jamie Janover (USA), who will be presenting Nassim Haramein’s fascinating research on cosmology, ancient civilizations and quantum science including a unified solution to Einstein’s Field Equations. This groundbreaking theory has led to a change in our understanding of the fundamental structure of the universe and consciousness.
Janover is also an innovative musician, so make sure to catch him on the live stage playing the dulcimer – an ancient percussive stringed instrument – along with laptop computer and percussion.

Other artists include Karen Hunter (NZ, folk), Matiu Te Huki (NZ, soul/roots), Boom Shanti (NZ, tribal), Chimuka (NZ, marimba), Mama Yeva (NZ, world beats), Grouch (NZ, trance), Organikismness (NZ, d&b), Pan Electric (UK, ambient/dub), and many more to be announced.

We have over 100 acts confirmed spanning the five days of Luminate, featuring a range of live music, world grooves, gypsy, roots, folk, dub, psytrance, minimal tech, progressive, breaks, dubstep, glitch, d&b, house, ambient, soul, funk, esoteric beats and more...Find your rhythm at the live stage or electronic zone, get primal with the drums of the tribal zone, take it horizontal in the chillout lounge, or bring an instrument and join in the fun on the buskers stage.
