The highly anticipated Flight of the Conchords tour has taken off! Demand from fans has prompted the show's promoters to announce a second Auckland show. Breaking records in super-sonic speed, Flight of the Conchords latest Wellington show and their first Vector Arena show has sold out the pre-sale ticket allocation this morning, prompting promoters to add a second Vector show on Friday 29 June.
The duo announced a tour in New Zealand, following sold-out tours across the United States and Europe, which fans quickly snapped up tickets for last week.
The tour will begin on the 13th of June in Hastings, making it's way through to Hamilton, Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Dunedin, Queenstown, Christchurch, Nelson and back to Auckland again.
In an attempt to stifle scalpers, tickets for the shows have been available at the box office only first, encouraging people to line up for tickets the old-fashioned way.
Joining the Conchords on their tour is American stand-up comedian Arj Barker and the pawn shop guy on their hit show, Dave Mohumbhai. Arj Barker said "This tour is going to go off - but not in the way that milk goes off - in a much, much better way."
