Kenny Rogers New Zealand Tour

Grammy Legend and Country Superstar Kenny Rogers will return to New Zealand in August to perform in Christchurch and Auckland.

Kenny’s last sold-out visit to New Zealand was described as magical. One reviewer wrote of his Auckland show “The cool kids may have been on the other side of Auckland at the Big Day Out but the crowd at last night's sold-out Kenny Roger’s concert were the ones having all the fun”. The evening was a testament to the special relationship between Rogers and his thousands of loyal fans who were treated to a good helping of his well-loved hits, which remains the promise for this upcoming visit.

Kenny will be supported by New Zealand icon, John Rowles. Kenny and John have known each other since the late 1970s; at one time Kenny suggesting to John that he should record a catchy little number called “Lucille”, which later became the No.1 hit that launched Kenny’s solo career. The same thing happened a year later when John turned down the opportunity to record “She Believes in Me” that also became a No.1 crossover hit for Kenny. It is fitting that John should be the one to step in to help almost a lifetime later as he is completing his own farewell tour.

John also has a connection with Glen Campbell releasing a version of Campbell’s 1974 hit single, Rhinestone Cowboy on one of his own live albums.

The Bourbon County Brothers a.k.a., Kevin Greaves, Chet O’Connell, JamesRay, and Brendon Ham, four of New Zealand’s top male country artist’s, will also perform a special farewell tribute to Glen Campbell at both shows.
