NewstalkZB is proud to present Heatwave, a summer concert series of NZ Sounds to be held at popular NZ holiday locations during January.
Off the back of their November UK tour, New Zealand's favourite sons The Feelers will be back to perform with other legendary artists Ardijah, and recent Hall Of Fame inductees Herbs, for an unexpected musical match-up that will surprise everyone with a very familiar evening of distinctly classic NZ hits, spanning the genres of funk, rock and reggae.
The inaugural Heatwave heads north of Auckland for a Rock in the Vines show on the 4th January to be held at the magnificent Ascension Wine Estate in Matakana. Get together with friends and family for an evening of good wine and great music!
Later on in January for Auckland Anniversary Weekend, Heatwave hits Brewers Field in Mt Maunganui on the 26th January and then onto Whakatane for the 27th January where The Commercial Hotel plays host to all three bands, again joining forces to deliver their blistering sets of summer sounds.
These events are shows not to be missed, enjoy your summer with the sweet sounds of Aotearoa in fantastic locations while enjoying a well deserved summer break at Heatwave.
The Feelers' Hamish Gee comments: "These bands are such a solid part of our cultural identity; it's a genuine pleasure to be gigging alongside them over summer".
Dilworth Karaka, founding member and leader of Hall Of Fame Inductees the Herbs says “this is a real salad bowl with the tasty sounds of Aotearoa, we can’t wait to walk onto the Heatwave stage”.
Unique and earthy Pacific songstress & NZ Tui Award winning artist Betty-Anne Monga of Ardijah says “Music truly brings people from all walks of life together - Uniquely Kiwi stylz, Funk/Rock/Reggae!”
See you this summer at Heatwave!
