The Jezabels NZ Tour
The band have played 200 shows internationally in the two years since the release of their debut and will be visiting New Zealand in support of their new album The Brink.
The Jezabels were also here recently for Laneway Festival.
PRESS RELEASE:
Off the back of successful run with St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Australian indie rock outfit The Jezabels are excited to announce their return to New Zealand shores for two headline shows this May.
Last month saw the release of their second album The Brink, which debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts -- a fearless collaboration of songs that deliver emotional conviction from start to finish. Packed with polished hooks and indelible melodies, the band artfully unveils the darker side of pop with outstanding precision.
Having spent the best part of two years on the road, The Jezabels played an impressive 200 shows around the globe, fine tuning their live performance and gaining world-wide recognition along the way. This included playing sold out headline shows across the US, Canada, UK and Europe and festivals (Lollapalooza, Pukkelpop, T in the Park) as the quartet catapulted into mainstream success.
With a host of Australian accolades under their belt (No.2 album in Australia, the Australian Music Prize Best Album award and 8 ARIA nominations), The Jezabels have gone far and fast.
In 2013 the band relocated to a London studio to work alongside UK Producer Dan Grech-Marguerat (Radiohead, Scissor Sisters, The Kooks and Lana Del Rey) to write and record The Brink.
And this summer has not slowed down. The Jezabels opened for Depeche Mode for a run of UK arena shows last November, wrapped up 2013 with support for American alt-rock gods The Pixies through the UK before the full run of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival through Singapore, Australia and New Zealand in January.
The Jezabel’s 2014 is off to a winning start; expect powerful, compelling shows from this indie foursome. Don’t miss The Jezabels’ headline tour in Auckland and Wellington this May.
