Shirley Maclaine Announces Auckland Show
Silver screen legend Shirley Maclaine is bringing her autobiographical stage show An Intimate Evening With Shirley Maclaine to Auckland's Civic Theatre this December.

With a career that spans 60 years, Maclaine is undeniably an Hollywood icon. Staring with Alfred Hitchcock's The Trouble With Harry in 1955, Maclaine went on to feature in films such as Terms of Endearment, Irma la Douce, The Apartment and Madame Soustzka, winning multiple Golden Globe and Bafta awards for Best Actress throughout her career and the Oscar in 1983. In 2012, she received the 40th AFI Life Achievement Award and in 2013 received the Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts.

Maclaine is also well known for her new age beliefs and has written 15 books, with a large number of them focusing on her interest in spirituality and reincarnation. Her latest was last year's What If... : A Lifetime of Questions, Speculations, Reasonable Guesses, and a Few Things I Know for Sure.

Maclaine is visiting New zealand for the very first time to share her tantalising personal history of the silver screen and the shadows that dwell behind it.
