Husband-and-wife duo Shovels & Rope are bringing their foot stomping Americana folk and rock to New Zealand next March.
The duo will perform at Auckland's Tuning Fork on Wednesday 11th March. They released their second album 'Swimmin' Time' in August of this year, which went to #1 on the Billboard Folk Chart.
Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent first met in 2002, but it wasn't until 2008 that they first officially released music together. They recorded an album comprising of mostly murder ballads, entitled 'Shovels & Rope', and thus the name stuck. With a new band name, they released their breakthrough album 'O'Be Joyful' in 2012 and won the Emerging Artist of the Year award at the 2013 Americana Music Awards.
Tickets are available now from Ticketmaster.
