Rhythm And Alps Are Thrilled To Present Shihad

The Southern Lakes biggest New Year's party, international music festival Rhythm and Alps (R&A), has announced NZ rock icons Shihad as co headliner for December 31st 2015.

Shihad are without doubt the most powerful, crisp and relentless act in the country and the band will sling shot festival goers into 2016.

Forming nearly 30 years ago the band are now one of the countries most contagious and favourite acts amongst the nation.

Shihad will join one of the worlds best DJs Carl Cox as co headliner who is also playing New Years Eve.

Red Bull Sound Select brings artists Kamandi, Spycc and Kakapo to round off the freshest and best in NZ new music.

Rhythm and Alps has also engaged leading South Island promoter BrandsBassfreaks, The Wall and The World Bar to present the WTWTA stage and the infamous log cabin, opening up channels of marketing nationwide.

R&A festival director Alex Turnbull says the Southern Lakes will burst alive with Shihad in beast mode.

"We are thrilled to present the platform for Shihad and Carl Cox to deliver a memorable and outstanding New Years Eve, the South Island is in for a real treat."

There are over 20 new acts announced in the second release.
