Selena Gomez delivered her debut solo album Stars Dance in 2013. Featuring hits ‘Come & Get It’ and ‘Slow Down’, the album hit #1 in the Billboard 200.
Now Gomez has followed up with a second Billboard #1, her acclaimed sophomore album, Revival (out now through Universal Music New Zealand).
Candid and sophisticated, Revival finds the 23-year- old co-writing with the likes of A$AP Rocky to channel raw emotion into her lushly arranged brand of pop music, redefining her role as a pop artist and offering her most complex and compelling album to date.
Gomez’s newfound creative control and strengthened command of her soulful vocals are more than evident in singles ‘Hands to Myself’, ‘Good for You’ - which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s digital songs chart, reached #1 on iTunes in more than 30 countries and achieved platinum status in New Zealand – and her latest ‘Kill Em With Kindness’.
Revival marks the latest chapter in a career that’s brought Gomez from starring in her own Disney Channel show at age 15 to taking a central role in Harmony Korine’s 2012 cult classic Spring Breakers - all while selling more than 21 million singles worldwide. “Making this album was the first time in my life that everyone looked at me and asked, ‘What do you want to do?’” recalls the Texas-raised Gomez. “It was a whole different kind of challenge for me.”
2016 promises to be another triumphant year for Gomez as she embarks on her worldwide Revival Tour.
The tour’s first leg will find Gomez travelling to 41 cities across North America, before making her way to Asia, Australia and New Zealand for a run of shows that promise to stun.
