After debuting at number one on the New Zealand charts with her powerfully and poignant new album,‘Brown Girl’, award-winning Kiwi singer-songwriter Aaradhna has announced two small pop-up album release shows, proudly presented by the One Love Festival.
She will play The Local Tavern in Hamilton on Friday, September 2 and Auckland’s Stampede Bar on Saturday, September 3.
With a stellar career that spans four albums, including 2013’s ‘Treble And Reverb’ and now 2016’s ‘Brown Girl’, Aaradhna is without question the number one R’n’B voice of the South Pacific and a serious contender on the world stage.
“Brown Girl resonates with Aaradhna’s deep-felt pride in her heritage and roots, a pride that is tempered with an almost solemn joy. Sometimes the music can unsettle… but mostly it reassures in that charming, effortless, rocksteady way… And girl, she can sing!”
- The Guardian
“With such intimate and revealing songwriting, it's not surprising that Aaradhna's vocals are as soulful, impressive and, more importantly, as real as ever.” - NZ Herald
An enigmatic performer who divides her time between New Zealand and the United States - where ‘Brown Girl’ was recorded - Aaradhna’s Auckland and Hamilton shows precede a US tour and a slot at next year’s One Love Festival being held in Tauranga on February 4 and February 5. The festival also features Rebel Souljahz, FIJI, Tarrus Riley, Spawnbreezie, Josh Wawa, and much more.
Choosing to play these two pop-up shows in smaller venues means audiences are guaranteed an experience to remember, but it also means tickets will be snapped up quickly. Don't miss your chance to catch the supremely talented Aaradhna in an intimate setting.
