New Zealand music heavyweights come together to celebrate the legend of Bob Marley

Due to huge demand, the NZ All-Stars will perform their celebration of Bob Marley again this summer. The show features a supergroup of New Zealand music stars playing the hits of Bob Marley. Over 30 classics make up the show, which will be staged for one night only at The Trusts Arena on Thursday 30 November.

Some of New Zealand’s biggest artists are part of this homage to one of the greatest influences on NZ music. Tiki Taane, Che Fu, Logan Bell (Katchafire), Laughton Kora, Fran Kora, Annie Crummer, Boh Runga, Ria Hall, Anna Coddington and Joel Shadbolt (L.A.B) each take the lead vocals in one or more songs including Get Up Stand Up, 3 Little Birds, Stir It Up, Redemption Song, Turn Your Lights Down Low, Buffalo Soldier, Punky Reggae Party, Exodus, No Woman No Cry, One Love and many many more.

They are backed by the amazing NZ All-Stars band, featuring Grenville Bell, guitar, Hani Totorewa, keys and Leon Davy, percussion (all from Katchafire, past and present); Fran Kora, bass and vocals (Kora); Ara Adams Tamatea, bass (L.A.B), Lucien Johnson, sax and Barrett Hocking, trumpet (both from The Black Seeds); Paul Russell, drums (Stomp and Supergroove); Joel Shadbolt, guitar (L.A.B); Shelton Woolright, guest drums (I Am Giant, Blindspott) and Godfrey de Grut, keys (Elemeno P, Che Fu & The Krates), with our very own I-Threes on backing vocals, Boh, Ria and Anna.

“This project has brought together our finest artists, many of whom had not played together before,” explains concert promoter Jackie Sanders. “Everyone was buzzing during rehearsals and the first shows and that excitement and love for the music is infectious. The audience feels it too, it is a very special show.”
