Folk singer Jeremy Loops to play NZ this May

South African raconteur Jeremy Loops will be hitting NZ shores for the first time, celebrating his forthcoming album 'Critical As Water' in Auckland and Wellington this May.

Loops has been thrilled upon announcing his dates Down Under: "Getting to do Australia and New Zealand as part of this Critical World Tour, and not something we try fit in when the gap in schedule comes about, shows just how important performing in this region is to us. And we know the love we give, Aussie and Kiwi crowds will give right back."

The extensive tour will see him play 27 shows in 10 countries, across three months, including an Australian leg which will see him perform in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney before heading down to our shores.

'Critical As Water' is produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran’s 'Perfect', Lily Allen, Bastille), with additional production contributions by Jake Gosling (James Bay, The Libertines, Shawn Mendes). It contains the lead single 'Waves', a woozy summer anthem with a music video featuring Loops surfing the crystal clear waters in Mozambique alongside whales.

Juxtaposing booming city rhythms with lilting folk, Jeremy Loops drew critical praise in 2014 for his debut album 'Trading Change' which won MTV Africa's Alternative Album of the Year, and iTunes South Africa's Album of the Year.

His high-energy shows helped him build a cult-like live following, which saw him support Twenty One Pilots and sell out his own headlining tour across Europe, cementing his place as one of music's most exciting, self-made success stories.

Don't miss your chance to see one of music's newest and most exciting raconteurs live this May.
