Arctic Monkeys return for their one-off NZ show this 2019

In celebration of their sixth studio album 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino', British rock royalty Arctic Monkeys return to New Zealand, playing their very special concert at Auckland's Spark Arena this March 2019.

Before showcasing their awe-inspiring performance though, the band will first wind up their Australian tour. They are set to play a series of arena shows happening at Perth's RAC Arena, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena and Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Joining them at all shows will be friends and collaborators Mini Mansions—the LA trio featuring members of Queens of the Stone Age and The Last Shadow Puppets.

The news came after the band announced their new two-track digital bundle, featuring a previously unreleased b-side 'Anyways', out 30 November (through Domino/EMI Music Australia). The band have also shared 'Warp Speed Chic', a short film directed by Ben Chappell and originally shown as part of the band's AM:ZM exhibitions in London and Sheffield alongside the photography of Zackery Michael.

During their extensively spanning career, the Sheffield-based group have released six studio albums. Their debut 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' was the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history, taking home the 2006's Mercury Prize for Best Album. 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' became Arctic Monkeys' sixth consecutive no. 1 debuts in the UK, the country's fastest-selling vinyl in 25 years, and their fourth record nominated for the Mercury Prize. They've won seven Brit Awards and been nominated for three Grammy Awards, have headlined festivals all over the world and are truly second to none.

On their latest 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' album, Arctic Monkeys diverted from the thick guitar riffs that defined their previous record 'AM' to a more piano-driven, suave, lounge pop sound. Their most surprising release to date slows down the swagger and is the perfect example of the band's special brand of creativity and desire to keep the world guessing. It's an album that was written largely by Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner on piano in his self-imposed isolation. Fed by obscure soundtracks, cult films, European songwriters, and vintage sci-fi, the album was recorded across LA, Paris, and London with long-time producer James Ford.

Appearing as special guests are indie-pop's tremendous trio Mini Mansions. Founded by Zach Dawes (The Last Shadow Puppets), Tyler Parkford, and Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age), the group have put out two albums and three EPs, including the newly released 'Works Every Time'. Since breaking onto the music scene in 2009, Mini Mansions have toured with music icons Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood and have played at prestigious fests like Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Bonnaroo.

Snatch up your tickets now and witness an unmissable evening of musical dexterity with Arctic Monkeys!
