Red Hot Chili Peppers announce SWIDT and Tunes of I as special guests for NZ shows

Phenomenal icons Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced NZ's acclaimed music ensemble SWIDT and Tunes of I as special guests on their two back-to-back shows happening on March 8 at Auckland's Spark Arena. A final and limited release of new tickets are available to both sold-out shows at Live Nation.

Hailing from Onehunga, hip-hop crew SWIDT have enjoyed a meteoric rise in New Zealand. During these recent years, the group have taken home multiple Tui awards at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards—wrapping up 2018 with the 'Best Hip-Hop Act' Award. Their latest EP 'The Most Electrifying' further demonstrates SWIDT's unique homegrown blend of hip-hop making them one of the country's most exciting acts right now.

Born out of the famed New Zealand School of Music, Wellington dub rockstars Tunes Of I are renowned for their original, tight and refreshing live performances. Featuring a solid backbone of drums, bass, vocals and guitars, and complemented by some of capital's finest horn players, Tunes of I have shared the stage with international acts including UB40 and The Original Wailers. They look forward to bringing their special blend of dub, roots, soul and psychedelic flavours, in support of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Peppers are one of the most successful acts in rock history, often performing in front of stadium and festival audiences in excess of 100,000. After sold-out US and European tours during 2017 and 2018 plus three massive headline shows at Lollapalooza South America, the Peppers have just completed a sold-out 10-date Australian tour. The band is expected to play a setlist composed of chart-topping tracks like 'Dark Necessities' lifted from their current and eleventh studio album 'The Getaway' (which debuted at #1 on the RIANZ Chart), greatest hits and classic album tracks as such as: 'By the Way', 'Can't Stop', 'Snow (Hey Oh)', 'Otherside', 'Californication', 'Under The Bridge' and 'Give It Away'.

"We can't wait to see all our fans in New Zealand—it has been too long." - Red Hot Chili Peppers
