Iconic rock superstar and award-winning muso, Steve Hackett, is gearing up for his comeback NZ concert next year. He will be rocking Auckland Town Hall - Great Hall with his 'Genesis – Revisited Tour 2020' in June. Before his NZ date though, he will first be flying over to Australia and perform a series of shows happening at Perth's Astor Theatre, Adelaide's The Gov, Melbourne's Palais Theatre, Sydney's Enmore Theatre and Brisbane's The Tivoli Theatre.
As the powerhouse guitarist for one of the most important progressive rock bands ever, Genesis, Steve Hackett has been a guiding influence for musicians for over 40 years now. His muscular guitars added life to what would become Genesis' finest album, 'Selling England By the Pound' and after 47 years, he will finally be playing the record in full on his upcoming tour, featuring some of the most-loved rock anthems like 'I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)', 'Firth of Fifth' and 'Dancing with the Moonlit Knight.
"I think (Genesis) really nailed the best of what that band as an entity could have done with that album." - Neil Peart (Rush)
"… a complexity of tone that's pretty rare in any kind of art." - Robert Christgau
In addition to what'll be an exhilarating Genesis tribute, Steve will also be performing tracks from two of his stunning solo albums 'Spectral Mornings' (1979) and 'At The Edges of Light' (2019). "I'm excited to bring my 'Genesis Revisited' show back to New Zealand. It was fantastic to play there last time and to visit that amazing country," says Hackett. "This time will be a special show, including the whole of Genesis album 'Selling England By the Pound', celebrating my solo album 'Spectral Mornings' 40th anniversary, plus more! I can't wait!"
Steve's exceptional 2017 debut 'Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited' left Kiwi audiences stunned by his majestic performances and his virtuoso band. He's successfully captivated fans with his dazzling guitar work as he played Genesis classics 'Dance On A Volcano', 'Eleventh Earl Of Mar' and 'Afterglow'. He's also performed tracks from his 2017 album 'The Night Siren', capping off the show with a bang!
