You Should Be Dancin' - The Music of The Bee Gees concert tour announced

From lyrical ballads to falsetto-sung disco hits and beyond, the Bee Gees have spread their night fever over New Zealand for many decades, making them one of our most loved acts ever.

Having had 19 top 10 hits in New Zealand including Massachusetts, Jive Talkin’, You Should be Dancing, Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever and Tragedy, the brothers Gibb also boast one of our biggest concerts at Western Springs in 1999 and international album sales exceeding 220 million, making them among the best-selling music artists of all time,

Fast forward, twentysomething years, and their music remains the soundtrack to our lives, the playlist we reach for to get the party started, and is finding new legions of fans as their hits are remastered and shared on streaming platforms only ever imagined when they had their first hit in the Sixties.

Today, I’ve Gotta a Message for You! From the promoter of The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love tour, comes You Should Be Dancing – The Music of The Bee Gees with concerts announced for Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.

Combining the extraordinary talents of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra in Christchurch, the Orchestra Wellington in the capital and the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in Auckland, with the amazing voices of Ali Harper, Laughton Kora and Rutene Spooner, this concert series is one not to be missed.

Tickets on sale today via Ticketek and Ticketmaster

After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their twelfth single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.

They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997; the Hall's citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees." With nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Bee Gees are the third-most successful band in Billboard charts history behind only the Beatles and the Supremes.
