Since 2012 Eventfinda has worked with the team behind two heavyweight events taking place in the Hawke’s Bay - the culinary extravaganza that is the Food and Wine Classic (F.A.W.C!) and the Big Easy, a 42km bike event where distraction and relaxation is favoured over lycra and personal bests.
“We used Eventfinda to launch F.A.W.C! in 2012,” says Hawke’s Bay Tourism’s Annie Dundas. “Since then it has grown to a large-scale event that’s held twice a year in summer and winter, with around 10,000 tickets sold to 120+ events.
“Initially we were attracted to Eventfinda’s inbuilt audience and their marketing capabilities, because a lot of their database was our core target. As the events have grown, so too has Eventfinda’s database, so it remains an important marketing channel for us.”
The complexity of incorporating up to 80 events within F.A.W.C!, each with its own producer, is minimised because of Eventfinda’s ticketing platform.
“It’s purpose-designed for individual event managers to go in and manage their events and track their sales. At the same time, we can access the back end to monitor events and glean data that can be used to tailor our marketing campaign.
“We also value the iframe functionality, which enables us to sell tickets through our websites rather than send customers to another site.
“Eventfinda is a natural fit and partner for us. The team has always been good at adapting and making things work. We have a great relationship.”
