Nau mai, Welcome to the 2017 Banks Peninsula Walking Festival.

Get off the beaten track, explore parts of Banks Peninsula not usually open to the public, visit new reserves and appreciate projects in progress. Our local guides will lead, inform and inspire you along the way!

Fire has been a big issue for Banks Peninsula this year. Experience the recovery first hand on our Phoenix walk at the Port Hills Ohinetahi Reserve where a massive planting program is well underway or head to Hinewai to appreciate nature’s spectacular work since that reserve experienced a massive fire in 2011.

We showcase exciting new tracks at Carew’s Peak and Panama Reserve, a secret walk-in Ellangowan and visit little-known Misty Peaks and Te Oka Reserves soon to be further developed.

Want to get even more off the beaten track? We offer a rare opportunity to visit all the private covenants at French Farm, two adventures above Little River, a potentially massive new project at Mt Evans, and even a walk on the Wildside!

For something a bit gentler, head to Diamond Harbour and meet some of the dynamic locals behind walks to be featured in the new “Diamond Harbour Coastal and Village Loops” brochure.

There is something for everyone, so book quickly as places are limited and popular walks fill up fast.
