Lloyd Spiegel NZ Tour 2018 in Manawatu / Whanganui
Blues 'power-house' Lloyd Spiegel returns to NZ in 2018. After wowing fans in Palmerston North, Wellington, New Plymouth, Hastings and Featherston, he'll continue playing his massive shows in Tauranga, Auckland and Gisborne this month!
Spiegel's incredible command of the guitar and powerful stage presence is a must see for blues and guitar fans alike and those who just love to be ‘entertained’.
"A revelation, the consummate performer, an Oz Blues & Roots icon." – Rolling Stone
"Spiegel is all presence, authority, rhythm and drive. He epitomizes control, soul and passion with white hot ferocity and blazing instrumental mastery, dangerous enough to spark a destructive inferno." - Terry Riley, The Age, Melbourne
A touring artist since age 11, with frequent visits to the USA, Europe, Canada and Japan, Lloyd has a unique story to tell and blends jaw-dropping guitar playing with powerful songwriting, comedy and storytelling, delivering a show that's truly on the cutting edge of the blues genre and a concert experience like no other.
The seven-time Australian Blues Award winner is a trailblazer in his genre and one of his country's most recognised guitarists, recently being named in Australian Guitar Magazine's list of the 50 greatest Australian guitarists of all time.
His 2017 release 'This Time Tomorrow' debuted on the ARIA independent chart at no. 4 and held the no. 1 spot on the Australian Blues Chart for 3 months. The CD picked up Australian Blues Awards for artist and album of the year and Victorian Blues Awards for song, album and solo artist of the year.
His 10th release 'Beaten Tracks' is a hard-edged, personal and brutally honest account of Spiegel's touring life. It's a return to his gutbucket roots but through the eyes of a more mature artist. 'Beaten Tracks' was set for release last May 15.
"A guitarist almost without peer, Spiegel deconstructs how the blues guitar is supposed to operate, makes sweet love to it, then kicks it out the back door." - Australian Guitar Player Magazine
