100 Years Journey: 1919-2019

This 6-concert tour is created to commemorate the 100 years since the year after end of WWI as well as pay musical tributes to NZ mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary (1919-2008), NZ artist Colin McCahon (1919-1987), NZ APO founding member John Ure (1952-2019), Dutch cellist Anner Bylsma (1934-2019) and American novelist/Nobel Literature Laureate Toni Morrison (1931-2019), with world premieres of newly commissioned compositions by David Hamilton, Ben Fernandez and German composer Matthias Hutter.

APO principal violist Robert Ashworth joins pianist Sherry Grant to present 3 different programmes on this Auckland/Wellington tour throughout October 2019, including two Bach/Brahms chamber concerts.
