The Dunedin Fringe Festival returns with a bang in 2019!
Since 2000, the world’s southernmost fringe has built a reputation for fostering the outrageous, the subversive, the first-class and tide-changing modern pioneers of performing arts. National and international talent of the highest calibre flock to this local celebration of the arts, providing something for all Dunedinites to dive into. Take a risk - you never know what you will find...
The lineup is fresh, innovative, and diverse. Familiar categories combine with unexpected twists, some inventing their own genre. Stalwarts of comedy and theatre join eclectic musical acts, interactive dance performances, and vibrant art installations - and that’s just a few examples from over 80 acts to plunge into. The Dunedin habitat is embraced, with events spread everywhere from Green Island to Waitati.
The 2019 Festival takes place from March 21st-31st, kicked off in style by the hugely popular Polson Higgs Opening Night Showcase on March 20th. The Emersons Festival Club will also be open for the duration of the festival, providing a hub to socialise and enjoy a curated selection of Fringe acts.
